It's important to know what you're consuming. That's why, when you're shopping, the packaging usually tells you the number of calories in the product. And we see it and hear it on the TV, radio and in magazines all the time - we should pick low calorie foods and fill up as much as possible on fruits and vegetables. For example, you'll see that 0% fromage frais has less than 45 kcal per 100g. It's very rich in protein and quite satisfying. Another suggestion as part of a slimming programme is turkey filet, sometimes at less than 100kcal per 100g - and also rich in protein and low in fat! Forget about pastries and head towards the fishmonger! White fish is highly recommended if you want to lose those extra pounds. Haddock is rich in protein and has around 90 kcal per 100g.
